This week marks Reconciliation Week — a time to reflect on Australia’s history and to strengthen relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. The week commemorates two significant milestones: the 1967 Referendum and the Mabo decision.
The 2025 theme, “Bridging Now to Next,” encourages us to consider where we stand today and how we can move together toward a more reconciled future.
Kwaba Bidi’s Cultural Practice Lead, Elsie Penny OAM, shared her personal journey and insights on reconciliation in interviews with ABC South West and the South Western Times — highlighting both the progress made and the work that still lies ahead.
