Jawun brings many benefits

December 1, 2025

SWAMS Acting Director of Business Services Wade Garwood, Jawun secondeees Jerome Leane and Jonathan O’Neil and SWAMS Data Analytics and Contracts Manager Devin Pincock.

The Jawun Secondment Program is helping SWAMS improve systems and strengthen services for our community. Skilled professionals spend six weeks with us, sharing expertise while learning about Aboriginal culture and health.

“Anshu from Woodside completed a placement with us earlier this year,” Acting Director of Business Services Wade Garwood said.

“Her experience with fleet management on a large scale helped us streamline how we handle business vehicles and introduced a new grey fleet policy. This change will strengthen SWAMS operations and improve our ability to serve clients in the community.”
More recently our secondees were Jerome Leane, who works in quality assurance for websites and apps, and Jonathan O’Neil, a banker with ANZ.

“Building cultural knowledge is important to me because I believe it can help shape more inclusive and effective government programs for Indigenous Australians,” Jerome said.

“The chance to work with an Aboriginal community organisation and see where my skills could help” was a key reason he joined, Jonathan added.

We thank Anshu, Jerome, Jonathan and all of this year’s Jawun secondees for their commitment to SWAMS and our community.
