Expression of Interest
SWAMS is seeking community members to join the new SWAMS Community Research Panel.
The community panel will play a key role in helping improve services at SWAMS by:
- Identifying and promoting local health and wellbeing priorities.
- Providing feedback on key programs such as Tackling Indigenous Smoking, Drug and Alcohol services, and the suicide prevention program.
- Contributing to the review and development of research projects.
This is a paid opportunity.
We are looking for community members who are:
- Committed to improving Aboriginal health and wellbeing in the region.
- Interested in learning how local Aboriginal health data is collected and used to inform services and programs.
- Have an interest in research or wish to learn more about it.
Eligibility
While the community panel is primarily for Aboriginal people, we also welcome non-Aboriginal allies to apply.
What’s involved?
- Commitment: You will be required to attend up to 10 meetings or workshops per year.
- Compensation: You will be paid a stipend for your time and attendance at meetings and workshops.
- Training and Support: You will receive training and ongoing support from experienced Aboriginal health researchers.
- Workshops: Meetings and workshops can be attended in person or virtually. Transport services/travel support can be provided for anyone wishing to attend in person.
- The Community Panel will commence shortly.
