Busselton march promotes respect

November 25, 2025

A powerful show of community strength took over Busselton’s main street on 25th November, promoting respect and positive change. The annual White Ribbon March along Queen Street concluded with stalls and speeches at Mitchell Park, with the SWAMS stall a popular drawcard.

School students, community members from all backgrounds and service providers including SWAMS joined the busy event. The day marked the beginning of the 16 Days in WA Campaign and International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Violence against women is preventable – and change starts with all of us. White Ribbon’s 2025 campaign, “Not Perfect, Better,” reminds us that progress matters more than perfection. Every conversation and action counts.

Australian men are stepping up. Most believe domestic violence cannot be excused and sexist language is unacceptable. But there’s still work to do.
Gender stereotypes and harmful attitudes persist. That’s why education, respect, and honest reflection are key.

Being better means calling out disrespect when you see it, listening and learning about healthy relationships and supporting those affected by family and domestic violence.
