YOKAI – Men’s health and well-being program

SWAMS Kaat Darabiny (What you thinking?) Team, in partnership with CrossFit South West are excited to announce YOKAI, a free 8 week Men’s Health Program.

The program will consist of 8 weeks of free CrossFit sessions. The sessions will be run by a licensed CrossFit coach and overseen by the Kaat Darabiny Team.

“Regular exercise can have a profoundly positive impact on all aspects of your mental health.” Explains Justin Brown, SWAMS Mental Health Coordinator.
“Studies suggest that exercise is equally effective as taking medication for some mental health disorders. It also relieves stress, improves memory, helps you sleep better, and increases overall health and well-being.” He continued.

To qualify for the program, participants will need to pre-register by completing a health check and questionnaire. This is to ensure the sessions are safe for everyone.
CrossFit sessions are able to be personalised for each person, so completing the pre-registration is an important step for getting the most out of your sessions.

Each session will include a 45-minute CrossFit session with 15 minutes cool down and yarning time. At the end of the program, you will be required to complete the health checks again.
We can then see what positive changes have been made.

“This is going to be a great way for Men to connect, get healthy and make positive changes to their mental and general well-being.” Justin concluded.
