Silver success

October 7, 2025

Bindjareb clients secured silver success at the LiveLighter Aged Care Games in Pinjarra on 7th October.

It was the Aged Care service’s second time at the annual games – and their second silver medal, too.

“They had a great day,” Aged Care Coordinator for Bindjareb Natalie Bajcich said.

The games are organised by the Seniors Recreation Council of WA with the support of their volunteers, LiveLighter Healthway, the state government, Alcoa and the Shire of Murray.

A mixture of fun, modified physical activities designed to suit all abilities were held. They include the bean bag toss, skittles, chair pass ball and seated hockey, which uses cut-down pool noodles as sticks to hit a rubber ball.

Entertainment and friendly competition with team decorations also gave the day extra energy.

The Bindjareb team featured Australian flowers, flags, colourful clapping sticks and damper.
This year, the crowd was treated to a beautiful music by Eddie Storm followed by a stunning dance routine from Persian performers the Kereshmesh Dance Group.

Congratulations to the day’s winners – the Dawesville Dazzlers from Mandurah Community Care – and to the Greenfields Circus team, who placed third in the sporting competition and also won the Best Presented Teams award for their shimmering display and dress-ups.

Biggest congratulations are reserved for our Bindjareb team, though, who proudly represented Aboriginal community members with spirit and strength throughout the day.
